Founder & Creative Director
Laila Lebbar is Founder and creative director at Crescendo, Early childhood Music & Performing Arts. Laila has been immersed in music and theatre since her early days when she began to play piano and perform in various choirs. During her Bachelor’s in Communication studies and later on as Director of Student Activities at Al Akhawayn University in Ifrane, she founded and directed the University’s first choir and mentored various performing arts student clubs. In 2011, she collaborated with music legends, Quincy Jones and RedOne, for the recording and production of the Tomorrow/Bokra project during the Mawazine Music Festival. In the same year, she was awarded the Fulbright Scholarship to pursue a Master’s degree in Music Business at the prestigious New York University where she continued to perform.
During her tenure in the US, she was blessed with 2 daughters that she used to take to baby music classes. She soon realized that exposing her children to music, early on, had an incredible impact on their well-being and relationship with others. If only she was able to pass along these music virtues to children in Morocco. Laila has always believed that music education was a right and not a privilege, so as soon she set foot in Morocco, she started offering family music classes not only to people who could afford her classes but also to children from underprivileged neighborhoods in her hometown Rabat. Crescendo came to life, bringing together families and an ambitious team around the belief that music is a crucial element in humans’ life.
With now over 6 years of existence Crescendo has become a Moroccan phenomenon with members often referred to as Moroccan children Rockstars!
